I managed to stop a European company falling into a scam. It involved, without any of their knowledge, two companies: Beijing State-Owned Assets Management Co., Ltd. (BSAM) and China Finance Online (with office in Finance Street, Beijing, where BSAM also has its real office).
The potential victims were promised a loan from BSAM (value: €2.1 billion, yes, billion). The “agents” for all this operation also declared that in Hong Kong, a new company would be registered in which BSAM would have a 40% interest. Mr. Zhiwei Zhao and Jun Wang (top leaders of China Finance Online) would take a seat. There would be a signing ceremony with those two leaders.
Small detail: please pay the “agent” a €45,000 fee for the trouble (in advance, obviously).The crooks made one “small” mistake: the address of BSAM is my … home and office address! And of course BSAM does not have this money anyway. I happen to be a former employee of BSAM… I complained to my wife: where was she hiding all that money in our office?
